Parkinson's Disease CareGivers/CarePartners Support - Punta Gorda/Port Charlotte, Florida

As many as 1 million people are currently living with Parkinson’s Disease (PD) in the United States and approximately 60,000 more are diagnosed each year.

PD is a chronic and progressive neurological disease marked by tremor, muscular rigidity, and slow, imprecise movement that chiefly affects middle-aged and elderly people.  The disease initially causes slowness of movement, difficulty with walking and gait.  As the disease progresses thinking and behavioral problems may arise, including depression and possible dementia.

Knowledge is key to living well with this disease.

This website was established to provide support and information to those who care for and are partners with People with Parkinson's (PWP). Whether you are a wife, husband, daughter, son, other family member, or friend; providing care and support for a PWP is a large commitment. It's important that you have access to good information and support from others to ensure the well-being of the person receiving your care, and just as important, your well-being as well.

Hopefully this website will help with this challenge.
